Natural Alexandrite and Diamond Ring

Alexandrite-since its discovery in the 1830s in Russia, this gemstone has been thought to bring luck, good fortune, and love. In Russia, it is believed to bring a connection and  balance between the physical and spiritual worlds. In the sun or fluorescent lighting, the gem appears green, while in dim or incandescent light, Alexandrite can appear purple or purplish red. This color-changing effect is why alexandrite is sometimes said to be an “emerald by day, ruby by night.”
